Winter Term News 2024
What an absolutely smashing Mid Year Recital. We had such an awesome time introducing our dancers to the fabulous sounds of the 80's as well as introducing them to some dance moves that probably should have been left in the 80's!
Thank you for everyone for supporting our dancers with such a fabulous turn out at every performance.
Planning for End of Year is well under way. We can't wait to reveal our theme to you.
Variations to enrolments
This is the ideal time to make any variations to your enrolment. If you would like to pick up any additional classes - please let us know ASAP so that we can adjust our records moving into Winter Term - and also be ready when costume allocation for End of Year commences in the coming weeks.
Class time this term
During this term dancers will be continuing to work hard on developing their technique. We like to call this our 'level up' time. Where we really focus on working to bump our technique up a notch!
End of Year Spectacular
Please make sure you have the dates set aside for our End of Year Spectacular.
The show will run over two days Nov 16/17. One show on Nov 16 and two shows on Nov 17. All dancers 7 years and over are expected to perform in two shows.
All Tiny Dancers and 5/6 Year dancers will only be performing in one show.
Full details about the shows, technical rehearsals, photo days and costumes will be sent out later in the term. The document will be able to be downloaded from the website and saved to any device you choose.

DISNEYLAND 2025

We must submit our audition video this term for consideration from the officials
at Disneyland. We will be including our 8/u Showgroup, our 12/u Showgroup and the Mid Year recital routine as presented by 11-13 years jazz.
The Disneyland officials do not expect that the exact dancers will be those travelling - but the age must be representative or we will have to resubmit our audition video again.
We plan to record these routines on the weekend of 16/17 August. Exact details will be forthcoming.
I do not anticipate that the filming of Showgroup will take long - but there may be a little more replacing of 11-13 years as Miss Izi and myself will be included in this performance to represent the adults that we know are planning to travel and perform with us.
WORKSHOPS
The BIG workshop of the season is Australian Dance Festival.
Think LOTS of people! If crowds upset you in any way - this is NOT your event.

STRETCH AND STRENGTH WORKSHOPS
with Miss Sarah
Many dancers often ask how they can get their splits, how to increase their kick height, how to have a better penche.....well this is the class series for you!
We work consistently on these items during our jazz classes but this program is focussed on these aspects of training and will require dancers to bring books and write down each exercise for practice between sessions. These classes are also limited to 6 dancers ONLY.
Sessions will run for 3 Fridays this term -

The Dance Space Olympics
We are so excited to be hosting our second Dance Space Olympic Games. Our last one was so much fun even though it took place in our living rooms in 2021.​
This time it will be a fun and games in studio all week - with gold medals all round!
Major medals will be awarded for Best Jete, Best Turns and Best Kicks.
We invite all dancers to come to class dressed in the colour of an Olympic Ring for the week.

WHAT HAVE OUR COMPANY AND SHOWGROUP DANCERS BEEN UP TO?
This past term our dancers competed at many Eisteddfods scoring some outstanding results. Our youngest team - 6/u Ballet Company have been awarded three 1st places and one 2nd place. Outstanding results for such young dancers.
Our 12/u Showgroup have travelled to Ulladulla to perform at the Mid Year Concert for our friends at Everybody Dance Now. The crowds LOVED their performance and they have inspired a group of students to form a performance team of their own in Ulladulla!
Congratulations to all our teams on a wonderful season so far!
